Five checks before storage
- Insurance: obtain proof that fire, theft, and handling damage remain covered during storage.
- Temperature and humidity: ordinary containers can become extremely hot and damage electronics, furniture, books, and artwork.
- Security: check CCTV, access controls, guards, locks, and fire protection.
- Inventory: number boxes, photograph the load, and obtain a signed inventory.
- Longer than one month: request a separate monthly rate and inspect the storage conditions rather than multiplying a short-term daily quote.
Keep valuables with you
Do not place passports, identity documents, cash, jewelry, medicine, keys, original contracts, tax documents, or irreplaceable data backups in general moving storage.
