In brief

Complete the legally required address process promptly. Tenants should handle the Korean protection steps that apply to them on move-in day and should not assume every service transfers automatically.

Address registration

The Korean source guide states that domestic move-in registration is required within 14 days and that tenants should act on moving day because address registration is part of establishing protection against third parties. Korean citizens can use Government24 or the local community service center. Foreign residents should update the address through the immigration process applicable to their status and confirm the protection steps for their lease.
